If you book with us, this is information you might want to consider. We are normally not pet friendly out of the respect of all guests. Our water comes from an underground river that is very pure and can be drunk as is, but we take that two steps further and we UV and filter it for the safety of our guests, tested before filtering and UV it tests at 99.6% pure, so no need for bottled water. Our area has been susceptible to hurricanes and hurricane damage, during hurricane season, June to mid November, and at risk is our main road in and our electricity. We are on the grid, but we also generate with solar panels all of our power requirements. In the event of a power failure, we have back up generator ready to come online. Villa Star of the Sea is an adult only facility. Costalegre is a series of different beaches and bays on the western coastline of the Mexican state of Jalisco in an area located between two other major and well-known tourist centers, Puerto Vallarta, Jalisco and Manzanillo, Colima.

We have carved out a small oasis in a small piece of the pristine Mexican Costalegre, to create a tropical paradise destination for would be vacationing, sun-seeking, travelers, looking for the ultimate in Rest and Relax and unwind. We are laid back and quiet on the road less traveled. We are just three kilometers south of one of the largest bays, the bay of Barra de Navidad.

Villa Star of the Sea is the most exclusive and most private getaway, hosting only one or two couples or singles at a time in the Bed and Breakfast rooms and in the apartment suite side we can house up to 10. Four in the two-bedroom suite and two in each of the 3 one-bedroom suites. These suites also have their own swimming pool. Come and enjoy this private getaway setting with a vista to die for at the edge of the ocean, at better than competitive pricing.

If quiet is not on your agenda, we may not be what you are looking for.

La Sirena Gordita is our onsite tapas bar, open seasonally, normally mid November until April 30th, but we have been open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, throughout the year. We serve great Margaritas, cold local beer, and some quality wines on hand, as well as our food menu.

The villa is a 10,000 Sq. Ft., a combination of indoor and outdoor living concept, small, but exclusive, 2 Bed and Breakfast room accommodations, the Garden Room, and the Ocean Room, both with large private ensuite. New and available in October 2017 we added new suites, three 1 bedroom suites, and one 2 bedroom suite, each with private three piece bathroom and kitchen facilities. We are eco-friendly, smoke-free, beautifully appointed, comfortable property, on the power grid but generating all of our own power requirement with a very low carbon footprint per annum. We have combined indoor and outdoor living into a spacious and unique destination. We have A/C, ceiling fans, and wifi. The property has soft spa music playing until 1030 am and then mellow jazz that compliments the sound of the ocean.

We maintain our swimming pool cleanliness electrostatically (Ion system) and two stage sand filtration adding minute amount of chemicals weekly and the pool is solar heated in the winter months and it maintains between 83-87 º F.

Although our phase I is billed as a "Bed and Breakfast" meals are available at our Tapas Bar Restaurant, La Sirena Gordita so we have been described by our guests as a small Boutique-Style Destination, as we go the extra to provide what our guests want. We have meals available beyond the breakfast provision of a Bed and Breakfast, and they are available at a very reasonable price in the main building's Tapas Bar. drinks

At the Sirena Gordita Bar & Tapas, we are open on the beach, 3 days a week days a week during the high season from 1 PM to 7 PM, Wednesday through Sunday, with a reduction in days open due to quieter season and covid. Local beers, red & white wines, local and imported, traditional Lime and Fruit Magaritas and light tapas meals are served.

There are also a myriad of shops, restaurants, tours, outfitters, golf, etc., in the area. Our facility would ideally appeal to anyone who is just wanting the ultimate in rest, relaxation & privacy, in a romantic, private serene setting. We have an abundance of beach to walk that is sparsely populated with upscale homes sporadically situated on a very long secluded beach, providing a breath-taking vista. What you will not see here or hear here is vehicle traffic of any kind but the odd quad out on the beach. You will quite possibly see more, whales, dolphins, sea turtles and tropical birds than you will see people. Our grounds have cactus gardens and other tropical shrubs and plants indigenous to Mexico.

As a Bed and Breakfast guest, on any given day there will only be your hosts and and possibly two other guests yourselves for a total maximum of 6 people on the premises at anytime. The Sirena Gordita Bar manager, will be onsite from 11 AM to 7 PM during the day. Our morning music is a mix of holistic spa music and after 11 AM a mix of soft mellow jazz. You are able to walk to small local villages in absolute safety. World-class golf is also close at hand. But mostly we provide a private serene setting with an awesome . vista at the edge of the Ocean. Sit poolside sipping your favorite beverage. Ask to help you arrange your travel plan to Villa Star of the Sea. From most places in North America during the high season you are approximately 8 hours away by air, which means travel in the morning and enjoy a Margarita on the beach in the afternoon, or sit poolside with your favorite beverage and soft music in the background.

University of Guadalajara Turtle Preservation Project

We have worked with the university for guidance and certification to preserve Sea Turtles, endangered due to human encroachment on their habitat, as well as natural preditors, domestic dogs, and human poachers, that take eggs and turtles for profit. We along with Footprints by the Sea, operate Conservation Program on Playa del Coco in the Navidad Bay area, by collecting Sea Turtle Eggs, and placing them in a protective enclosure for incubation, and after the incubation period, allow the baby turtles to return to the sea.

Villa Star of the Sea, and Footprints by the Sea, on Playa del Coco, collect sea turtle eggs and transplant from the original turtle nests on the beaches during the moon effects starting in July through November, and transplanted to the santuary/hatchery areas on the beaches, where they remain until the hatch. Approximately forty-five days later they will hatch and then they will be released.

We are non-profit, group who don't receive any salary or payment. Voluntary donations either economical or, of equipment assisting this cause are welcomed. If you have been a patron of La Sirena Gordita Tapas bar, you have contributed to this program and we thank you for your patronage. If you would like to accompany us on an early morning turtle egg expedition, we can accommodate up to two persons, 05:50 hrs and return at 07:30 Hrs. For further information about Sea Turtle Preservation, contact the University of Guadalajara.
